but Bill has been gone that long. I must say I think of him, his family, and his words often. Hope the surf's up where he is.

You & I and many others as well.
edit: He was a most remarkable individual and his curiosity, compassion, many contributions and the laughter and goodwill that was ever present, to me, are indelible.

Deleting from mailbox last week, I re-read his words. He inspired us. He lived to a true standard of human values. I couldn't delete his messages.

Montana: On another board, I saw a question about a Charles Dailey made by Lindner. A lot of guesses were followed by a long treatis from someone who obviously knew what he was talking about.
Most impressive was the signature. Owleyes 3. What wonderfull memories flooded me- His posts and a very little personal cooresponence.

Someone had dragged up a three year old post and I thank him for the memories.

I visited with Bill only once but still remember the crane over the bed and later him wheeling around the wraparound deck of his house. I doubt if any of us will ever forget the "swivel gun" for deer. One tough hombre; he had a lot of spit for doing what needed doing to life's misfortune.

Oscar, Russ, Bill........the older gentlemen are surely missed. Not only in the way they spoke, but the knowledge they would give to friends. They are surely missed. God speed.

Montana, thank you for reminding us. You have brought tears to my eyes.
His generosity and bonhomie will never be forgotten.

All good,

I refused to delete his emails for months. Finally, it was done in error when installing a new system. I sure would like to have them back. The eulogy at the funeral service was the most stirring speech I have ever heard. Murphy

Bill, it's enough that we remember him. That's all we can do. I never met Bill nor heard his voice. A few photos and his words are all we have, and that's life: they'll have to do. I think like most of us, he wanted to be remembered and not die alone. He got both barrels from this board.

I was one of the fortunate ones to visit Bill, fondle his collection, and drive him out to spread some corn at his deer hunting spot. We chatted by phone frequently and I always enjoyed our talks. I still have his emails in my archives and periodically go back and read them. What a gentleman he was. I wish the best to Rosalie.
