It'll take a huge campaign and overwelming scientific evidence to overturn the current lead bans, IMO. The current attacks on lead firearm projectiles is being waged on several other fronts now. CA just enacted the ban, covering most of the lower half of the state, on the field usage of all firearm projectiles (except shotguns) made from lead. I believe the evidence used to sway the legislature was the death of less than a half dozen condors resulting from lead ingestion (or so it was stated), possibly a couple. I fully expect that my favorite quail patch that is within "condor country" will have a lead ban on shotguns as well in the not so distant future. I think our legislature would ban peeing in the bushes if someone said it made condors sick.
