See the little nipples poking out of the water table?

Those little things pop up when the bbls fall. I guess that when the gun is closed, the bbls push them down and push the cocking rods out of the way.

I've seen these before on a H&H .577 Royal DR, but never on a shotgun. Has anyone else ever seen them on a shotgun?

I know I have some more info on this patent, but I haven't found it yet. I'll have to look around some more.

Could they keep the gun from firing if not completely closed?

My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

I think they just push the cocking rods out of the way when the gun closes as a why to try and prevent misfires.

I'll have to see if I can take a look inside the gun the next time I see it.

I'll see what more I can find.

My guess is they have something to do with the ejectors. Ithaca flues ejector guns have similar little thingys and extractor guns don't.

Looks like a self opener system. I've seen other birmingham guns with similar devices.
