I spent an afternoon at American Shooting Center in Houston squadded with Bob Brister as he shot a practice round, and I merely trailed him and watched in awe. He was a gentleman, offered pointers and didnt laugh. I watched as he broke perhaps 10 pairs straight at one station, incomers, true pairs that crossed, one shot per pair. He would wait until the birds crossed and shoot. He called it "Clubbing" a pair. Very impressive.
The next day I was out on the course again, shooting a formal round, and inspired by Brister, was able to club all 5 pairs at that same station. I did it again 4 times in a row at the next station that offered the opportunity. Man, was I hot!
That was perhaps 4 years ago, and I have never been able to do it more than once or twice since.
