Just curious,
Anyone have any interesting or valuable gun or shooting books?
I'm a rabid reader, and I'm constantly scouring the gun shows and
used book stores for anything on guns or shooting. It's amazing
sometimes what you might find. Years ago I found an old edition of
The Art of Shooting by Charles Lancaster at a ratty used book store
in one of those blink and you'll miss it kind of villages. It's the
1945 edition. I also found a neat little book at a library book
sale. It's called The Shotgun, and it's by T.D.S Purdey and Capt.
J.A. Purdey. Would that be James Purdey or maybe his father? I got
a copy of Churchills Shotgun Book through a friend who knew I liked
old shotguns. I think my favorite though, has to be The Upland
Shooting Life by George Bird Evans. I've probably read that one at
least three times now, and I still find it a great read. So what
have you got? I'd be very interested to see what anybody else has.
