Two of my sons left for overseas deployments this week. Oldest son is a SSgt in the Army. He left for his 3rd tour in the badlands. Son #2 is in the Navy. Wife and I drove down to see his ship off this morning. Wife handled it better than I thought she would.
What was scary, was I would have gotten on board too if they let me. Never thought I would think that after being retired for 10 years.
Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you thought of them and all the others from time to time. Hopefully, they will be home soon for good.
Kind regards,

Your Boys will be in my strongest positive thoughts, GunPlumber.
And you aren't alone in thinking like you do. I retired out in '89 and would go now in a heartbeat if I could. It hurts to know that you could make a positive contribution and can't because of age.
Thank God we have families and sons like yours!

My friend: No one can doubt that the finest a man can do is to go into harms way to protect those he loves and their way of life. Many are the motives for going and all are honorable. God bless these sons and their mother and father. Your examples are shone in their character. I salute you all. John

Not a day goes by that I'm not thinking of their service and sacrifice over there, GP. If I thought it was for a better world, I could handle it better, but I don't. Our sons and daughters go where they're told while our countries are split on whether they should be there. Sad is hardly the word for it but sadly there's no end to it. Kind regards, King
