GP, I for one am very proud of your and your's familys sacrifce for our nation. For all that venture in to harms way, I am most proud and eternally grateful they will forever be in my prayers, as will those that will follow and came before.
There is no room for politics when it comes to being thankful and respectful to those serving our country.

Gunplumber, I, like you, wish I could go in their places. I passed by the "Museum" (the almost new Marine Memorial) Saturday and a good friend and fellow veteran travelling with me asked what that structure is. Well that question took a few miles to answer. I think I gave him a wake up call and maybe next time we pass by on a fun trip, we'll stop in and both of us can get our wakeup. After all the time I have spent on the Base doing fun things, I've never been to the "Museum". Next time.

A prayer for you and your family has already been said. I know what you mean about going along. If they let any/all of us go, we would have kicked a-- a long time ago. Bravo!! for your brave sons. Tell your wife to keep her chin up. God Bless.

First, thanks to you and your family for the sacrifices you're making to keep us all safe. My best friend's daughter just left for her fifth tour and my heart is sick with fear her luck will run out.
I retired in '88 and sat in front of the TV for the entire Desert Storm war filled with the same emotions as you. Would have gone in a heartbeat if they allowed it. Even tried to find a unit which would allow me to serve in a rear area doing routine, mundane tasks for the warriors to free them for combat. No go.
Bless you and your family. Bless them all and all the families.
Cary

I will add them to my prayer list this Sunday for a safe return. I for one thank you for their efforts and their service.
