I have an RBL on order - pretty much the basic gun but did opt for the beavertail forend. I ordered mine because as Rocketman stated: "The price is affordable for a significant number of people. Tony has Brand Value to his name. New guns are desirable to many for avoidance of repair issues; some people actually don't enjoy repairing 100 year old guns. The gun fits a desirable shooting niche. Made in USA. Has enough customizable features to "feel sorta bespoke." " While not a pauper and could spend more, I don't normally spend a lot of money on a shotgun and, to me, $2900 is a lot of money. I have a cabinet full of nice quality doubles (O/Us and SxS) that I have acquired "cheap", but the chance to own an American made, made to order, quality SxS was very enticing. So, I used the plastic and am now very interested in the RBL progress. I would especially like to see some pictures of RBLs with the base level wood as mine is ordered. For those that are tired of the RBL threads I offer a simple solution: Don't click on or open an RBL thread. That isn't so hard to do - I don't open every thread that appears on the forum as some subject lines just don't interest me. I, for one, look forward to new RBL delivery notices, RBL pics and "impressions". I don't, however, care for the "I am tired of RBL" threads and would not read them if they are labelled as such in the subject line. Bottom line for me, as Rocketman said: "It is fun to talk about, too."

I think Tony ought to be considered for Sainthood after all of the crap he has to put up with his customers. I have found CSMC to be the most accomadating company that I know of. I just don't know how they deal with it. I surely couldn't do it. I would charge 10 grand for the shotgun just to compensate for all of the grief he must get about 1 year back orders, wood being proud by .00001", etc... Hang in there Tony!!!

Maybe I'm missing something but there sure are a lot of the guns and places in line coming up for sale. Could be speculators and it could be they don't like the gun as well as they thought they would. I don't know and I haven't laid eyes on one. But for me I can think of a lot of other guns I'd rather spend the money on. JMHO

I agree with Mike, but I also am gratified to see someone make something besides money in this country. I'm sad our manufacturing base has shrunken so badly and this gun is a nice value product. Mr. Galazan has a tough clientel, but he knew that going in. His reputation sets the standard and for $2.5-$3k I would expect the gun to look right and from what I've seen, that seems to be the case so far. Feature for feature with case and accessories, what else competes with this offering? These plaintive RBL threads remind me of 10 guys watching 1 guy dig a hole and telling him he isn't doing it right.

In my opinion the wood is worth what the entire gun cost! Get a double restocked in the fancy wood the RBL comes with and see what a pro.will charge you! Bobby

Do you think having a gun fire just one barrel is all you should expect for a gun that only costs a few grand.

Bobby, Would you post a picture of your wood again? I recall it being very nice! I ordered my Exhib. wood about 2 hours after your order, but with no contrasting figure, my stock is very different than yours.

A defective gun has nothing to do with my comment about nitpickers. I'm a simple man. Just read what I write, not in between the lines. Thank you. -IM

I have three on order so my vote does not count for a gun in the hand experience. But put it in perspective, the RBL cost less than a Fox A grade 20, almost any 20 Parker and most LC Smith 20 gauge guns. Plus it has modern metals, decent wood and shootable stocks, all for less than most 75 year old used American 20 guns listed above. It is a heck of a value and I am willing to give them every chance to make as many of them as they can. Might be able to get a 16 version someday if all goes well.

I know you can buy a used SKB for less or even a new Hugulugulullas for less, but there are always cheaper guns somewhere. Plus most of my fellow workers are Americans and I like to buy American guns when possible. I find the selling price to be very reasonable. Plus it does not come from China or Walmart which are two of its' best selling features if you ask me.

Here's my 2 cents on the RBL...OK it's not even worth that, but just the same...it's great to see Americans actually produce something. We used to be the envy of the entire world because we had the know-how, the resources, and the facilities to make anything. Not even close anymore. As a group we are getting dumber and less capable every day.

As for the gun, it's a good value but not a steal. IMO I find fault with all the 7X Exhibition grade wood; it's like putting a $5,000 set of rims on a Camaro. The rest of the gun is not upgraded and the wood looks out of place. It's like when you see a tiny girl with 48DD boobs - you know she paid extra for them and she thinks they look great, but....
