While you guys seem to find lots to bemoan, and some of it justifed, not all is quite so gloomy. College and high school trap and skeet teams are springing up all over and going great guns (to pun a phrase). I think we have well over 100 student members on our ISU club. There are also rifle and pistol clubs and quite a bit of competition. A local gal actually chose to attend ISU on the strength of its trap and skeet team. She is now an officer in the local Izaak Waltons gun range.

I saw recently that one of my old alma maters MSU (M as in Michigan), just built some sort of multimillion dollar shooting facility and are bragging that their's is the best collegiant shooting venue in the nation.

The local car dealer in town is coaching a high school team and they can fill up the range on practice nights without a problem. They travel around the state in competitions, and I'm told that new teams are springing faster than they can keep track of them.

The bottom line is that there seems to be a lot of interest in shooting sports and quite a few opportunities to expand them.
