Have never used RenWax because I always understood it was for uses like musuem storage and display. I have used carnuba wax for maybe 15 years on guns taken hunting and used in matches. It does wear off after a few trips, but, I just keep replacing it. Find it better than RemOil for protecting gun metal surfaces while hunting or match shooting.

Maybe I will rethink the idea of coating my guns with Ren wax. I would like to here more from those that were not that happy with it. My experience with it has been more in the line of appearance and not so much protection, in other words the things I used it on looked good after applying the wax but were not subject to rust or harsh conditions, and if it failed you really would not be able to tell other than loss of sheen.
Thanks

...but its British j0e!
I've used it for years, if once isn't enough - give it another waxing. What else do you have to do?
How about a warm luster, instead of an old Ford's front bumper look!

Along with using Flitz's excellent cleaner for getting imbedded crud and rust out of newly acquired guns I've had good success with their gun wax as well. I have guns rained on while hunting here in Arizona and have never had a problem with rust when the guns have been protected with their wax. The other advantage is it cost's about 1/4 of the cost of Renwax.

A couple seasons back I used Renwax on my Scott Premeir Hammer gun (metal and wood). I got caught in a heavy down pour one day in no time it showed no sign of beading the water off the metal or wood.
I'll stick with oil on my metal and a good paste wax on my wood.

Well did it protect your gun?
Besides, who wants greasy kid stuff on their gun.
