Mike,
Midway has nickel plated 7's, but it's not cheap.

Sam,
I check it against the Federal 3" 7 1/2 shot load. That's the load I've patterned and hunted with more than any other in this gun.

Chuck, you haven't been paying attention. don't you know that 410's are useless little guns and responsible for wounding more game than a pack o boy scouts with bb guns?

I took mine for a plantation quail shoot last season and did reasonably well and had a great time. the best shot in our party uses a 410 model 101 skeet gun and usually bags about 50 pen raised birds on our sat/sun trips.

If you like hunting with a .410, you owe it to yourself to try some of Jay Menefee’s excellent Polywad 3” Gram-Crak-R loads. The shot charge is a hair lighter than a typical Big three 3” load, but it is buffered and holds together quite well. With the light .410 shot charge, you don’t want to waste too many pellets with out-of-pattern flyers – the Gram-Crak-R’s help considerably with that. They are well worth the cost for wingshooting.

FWIW, I have Briley’s in my old solid rib 42, so I can play around with chokes and loads. When wingshooting, I will normally use IC – works fine out to 20/25 yards and doesn’t blow closer birds to tatters like a full choke can do.

Thanks, Chuck! Since I use 'em up pretty slowly in my .410s, I figure that plated 7s are a worthy investment (Man, did they "appreciate" since I got that first 10#!).

Notice the .410 reloading article in the latest Handloader Magazine? Gotta try those "spherical slugs" in my M24 Savage .410 barrel....just for laughs.

I still think that lever action .410s are a fairly lame idea, tho. Expensive for what you get, cute, but lame. They don't even take down! And you can't load the mighty 3" Magnum in 'em!
