A friend at the local gun shop just took in this Beretta. What model gun is this? It has fixed chokes, extractors, 2 3/4" chambers, POW grip, sling swivels. Serial # is 32530. Thank you.

The serial number doesn't really help, before 1975 they used Roman Numerals 1 through XXX. From 1975 to now it starts with A.

The specific model number is often stamped on the underside of the forearm wood, at least the 409/410 series guns have it there.
I think JB may be correct, but the GR3 had an Italian model name too & I don't recall what it was just now.
I like the articulated front trigger.
The Roman numerals and letters denote the year of mfg. as I recall. Someone here will likely post the link for that information for you.
Not a lot of help, but hope it helps a bit anyway, I don't have any ref material handy where I am.

Mike,
Take a look under the barrels around the trigger. Beretta often put a model name there. Also if you take off the barrels you will be able see the date code.
It could be a GR-3, 425 or 410. Does it have a Greener cross bolt?
A good looking gun in very nice condition.

Mike,
By it's engraving it's a GR-2, made 1968-1976. I have the same gun in 16 Gauge. I know blue book does not list a 16 gauge made in a model GR-2 (extractors +double trigger, or 3 (single trigger+extractors) or 4 (ejectors), but I do have one. Also the workers tended to get a little lazy on their date codes, as mine is marked XX7 instead of XXVII for 1971. My serial number is 3054
It was the last of the Beretta SxS's to feature the Cross bolt or third bite. The next series, the 424-426 introduced in 1977, did not have this feature.
There is no model number marked on my gun anywhere , nor are there any importer marks. I also have sling swivels, splinter fore-end and a POW grip.
What gauge is yours?
Bob

My old sxs Beretta has the date (1952) stamped "in the clear" on the action flats/no date code. Mine has a silver pigeon inlaid on the top-lever. I've always called it a model 410, but I'm not really sure about that. It does not look like the one in the pictures...Geo

Thanks to everyone. I should have mentioned it is a 12 gauge. There's nothing on the underside of the forearm but the serial number. Here's the best picture I have of the proofmarks.

It is not a GR2 or GR3 (I have a GR3). The articulated trigger, coin finish, engraving pattern, POW/splinter, sling swivels, and lack of a crossbolt mark it as a 425, probably for the European market (I also have a 425). The wood is generally interchangeable among the GR2-GR3-425-426 guns.
