What is the best method for transferring engraving onto paper for an engraver to use during recutting?

Try using lamp black & scotch tape. Rub lamp black into engraving, clean any surface LB from metal, place scotch tape over engraved area & trace engr. pattern thru tape. This will give you what we call a "pull." From this pull, the engraver will have all he needs to recut pattern. The engraver should already know this IF he is experienced. Ken

They are. Ken's wood duck in flooded timber and short hairs flushing pheasants scenes done for me were not taken from any pulls but are interpretations of illustrations rendered by this shoeless master of the arts and gentleman.

But you knew that already LOL
