Overheard at a gunshow! "Hell I have one, do you?" Listing to one old coot, to another old coot concerning a Colt 45 Peacemaker of some rare sort. Now both could use a shot of Beano...but! Made me think; this is what it's about - you either have one, or you don't! Academics/hearsay are cheap stuff, the pistol wasn't! So when a topic of Boss&Co comes-up...do we need to ask?

Which gunshow was this overheard at?

It's a poor man who thinks "it's about" what he has, rather than what he's done.

Sad that you think that way, LG. Can't write a check for an engaged mind:
My '51's a repro and it didn't cost me much dough. Powder neath the ball, caps all round the wheel. I pull that trigger and it's darn near almost real.

Now days just about anyone can buy anything they want if they have a credit card or a home equity loan. First comes- HOW you handle the gun and others in the field. IE. What's tickin' under the breast pocket?

That's the main reason I don't consider myself a 'collector'. I couldn't care less what some other guy has, or trying to outdo him.
Besides, I wouldn't give 10,000 Colts for one good Parker so I'd have just laughed at the old coots anyway.

It could be said, welcome to the real world. A place where the player and the gun pro(you prolly know the type) meet. Maybe the gun in hand is a good litmus test, who knows! ...but we've all seen the bogus papers before.

I would go with a Woodward. While on the subject of Boss I much prefer Gianfranco Ferre to Hugo Boss. PS. Colt did mike one exceptional handgun, it was called Model 1908 in caliber .380ACP. Sadly production ended prior to Pearl Harbor and there will be no more. I dread to admit but it's superior to my German made PPK. Hey, I heard Colt is bringing back 'Delta Elite' in 10mm. I can hardly wait.
