Jeff, CJ definitely set the bar pretty darn high with the quality of his work and the completeness of the restoration. The photos are excellent too, and did you see that vise he's got! You're not the only one doing the 'deep sigh' appreciation.

C.J., a post from another lurker and learner type. How was the woodwork (drop points, area around plates, etc.)executed? I am stunned by the phenominal results of what presumably was zero, if not less than zero, material with which to hit your marks.

Excellent: Thread, photographs and most to the point, the work. Phenonemal and thank you for sharing it with us. Any more details on the stock work would be of special interest to me and, apparently others who lurk here. Thanks again!

I'm still blown away by this. Your own case colors and barrel blacking, too?

Thank you again for all your kind words,....I know you would all like to know about the woodwork, but it's tough to describe what I did without going into specific details and since I'm a slow typist I have to do it when time permits,...in the mean time I managed to find a "before" scanned image of the trigger guard it will give you an idea of the overall condition,..the pitting here was heavy and it varied throughout CJ

PLEASE move to Texas, CJ! It's warmer down here and I'd take you quail huntin' and dove huntin' and duck huntin' and pheasant huntin' and deer huntin'....and bring your new toy along.

Just wondering if this is the same "CJ" that often posted excellent dog training guidance on another board a few years ago?

Magnificant! I makes me feel like a true rookie but on the possitive side it gives me something to shoot for. Heck, if I could get 1/4 of the way there I would be happy.
