Keith Kearcher did one at least, some time ago. You may want to ask him if it has held up. I agree with Mike, the tension may cause a problem unless there is a lot of meat in the bbls.

I have a 16 ga Belgian hammer gun that has damascus bbls that look like they have been sleeved into a fluid steel breech section, but there is NO seam. It seems the breech section is also damascus, just blued. I don't know how they got that perfect transition, but it looks neat.
