If Doug's stick figure carving is as nice as his stock work and checkering then I would give him free rein. If you like I have some pink ivory wood that he can use in the inlay to help you get in touch with your feminine side. That or mother of pearl or some other fine inlay material to finish the job as a one of a kind. Let me know as I just want to help.

Thanks Steve! I have not seen the magazine yet, but if you have it then it should be here soon.
As it happens, the barrel in the article is for the rifle this piece of wood is going on.

What a great idea! In fact, I think I will ask Mr. Hurst to engrave the meerkats on one side of the action. And a warthog on the other. I don't actually know as I will have any say about the engraving either, but it won't hurt to ask.
