You were preaching to the choir, and I'll bet the sentiment was shared one way or another by all or nearly all of us because that's why we're here! We're the obsessed, fanatics. conjurers, men and women of magic who see what others don't see. Or just blind. . .

Yup, and we're allowed to own more than one fowler. I must admit I don't easily get that warm and fuzzy feeling when I shoot one of mine made in the last fifty years or so. Of course, I could get a bit fuzzy about one of Tony's Foxes in 30" .410 persuasion, especially after making a few impressive shots on wild quail.

But to me there is a real difference between a brand new Citori and a brand new CSMC Fox. Or compare a new Beretta 686E to the new Fox. In that light my eyes see soul in the new Fox. And it is not because of the orientation of the two barrels.
For the record I respect both the Citori and the 686E. I have both amd I like them a lot and they are very good guns.

Would the Beretta 450 and 451 guns have soul? They are sidelock SxSs, hand fitted, hand engraved, hand checkered and hand finished. Say made in 1955.

Best,

Mike

Sure Italian soul.......LOL I like italy and Italians. I would say those craftsmen in Europe have a little more soul then the craftsmen here only because even thought they are advanced and use advanced machines they are still a few years behind us. Can I say they are more old school?????? Ok let my beatings begin over this one.............

There's a Belgian kid somewhere that just had his bubble burst about the gun that had been passed thru 3 or 4 generations of his family.

A term of endearment - Just Another Belgium Clunker.Made by the thousand, and mind you, not so good!
j0e, sharp as a tack you are and on top of your game.
In days of olde, a shotgun behind the kitchen door kept the fox from the coop. In days of future shock, it'll keep the hungry from your ice box!

Thank you for filling me in. I got the Remington 870 for keeping fools out of my ice box. I have not heard that term used in a while. My grandparents all called it the ice box. My granddad would even say he is going to the outhouse. Though he didn't have a "outhouse". Boy do I miss them.
