Double gun enthusiasts- I am glad to have found this site, here's my initial posting: My favorite shotgun is a British gun with Birmingham stampings, as near as I can determine made between mid 20's and mid 50's. A beautiful boxlock 12 gauge with 28" barrels, typical straight stock and splinter fore-end, 2 1/2" chambers. I am interested in learning if possible its maker, as it is only marked "Harrod's" on the rib, no other writing that I can find anywhere except for a serial # on the trigger tang. I e-mailed Harrod's Dept. Store in England and got a nice answer that they did not keep records of their shotgun sales from that period, but that most of their guns were likely made by Webley&Scott. I cannot at this time post a photo or even a better description of my shotgun as I am away from home for a number more months at the behest of Uncle Sam, but wonder if any of the readers of this site might know any information to tell about shotguns from Harrod's. Thanks to all for a fun site, as it helps make a long deployment more bearable!
