A friend and I went to visit the son of R.G. Owen awhile back. He showed us a 20 gauge his father had built for him when he was, I believe, 13 years old. We were shouldering it and commention how nice it came up. He chuckled and said that one of the members of the Winous Point Club had commented, when handing it years ago, that "It was like touching a woman".

He'd met Capt. Curtis as a boy and had a signed copy of his book. He'd also met H.P. Sheldon and several of the other "big guns" from back in the day. It was quite a visit hearing all those stories I can assure you.

Here's one of Mr. Owen holding the gun.
