Diane took this today as I was checking the wheat right next to the house. This may be "The middle of nowhere" But we love it! Just as I was leaving the field, a flock of Prairie Chickens lifted out of the oats across the road to the south, and argued their way overhead...

Great country for sure and thanks for feeding the masses.I know there are hundreds of ways you could make a easier liveing with more bucks but the love of the land runs through you.

Absolutely beautiful.
After the army, and before university, I worked as a surveyor in eastern Colorado. I fell in love with the plains landscape. It was quite a change for a young man brought up in San Francisco. I’ll have to admit that February on the plains was one of the things that made me decide to check out the classroom again. Uh-oh, I’m getting nostalgic as I age….
