I bought this gun today. It was at Cabela's Hammond. I paid $1199. $1800 discount - really! It is listed on their website as a model "B". The salesman said they reduced a number of guns last week because the prices were too high and they had to get rid of some inventory. I also bought a near mint LC field 20 with 28 inch mirror bores and brilliant CC with un-chipped wood for $1999. I think they wanted 5K last time I was in. I think that is a fair price but not necessarily a bargain. I'll post some pics when I pick them up. I didn't see any other reduced guns that were of interest to me. I also don't know if this was a single store or company wide event. If you saw anything of interest recently in the GL I'd suggest rechecking the price.

The colors on the NID are better than they look in the pic. I'm sure they were never as dark as the LC and they have been worn some. The LC had a light coat of lacquer applied to the colors and has seen very, very little use. Both guns are mechanically perfect with plain but good condition wood. The NID is a 1929 and the NID is a 1947.

Now I have to decide which one to carry in the woods on opening day.

There is an even better condition Field Grade 20-gauge NID at Bob Grant's newly renovated Shooters Supply on Government Way in Coeur d'Alene, across from the fairgrounds. Unfortunately I didn't look at the asking price when I was in there yesterday.

I purchased a nice 20 ga NID skeet gun last year with SST, ejectors, BTF, vent rib and a second set of barrels for more than $1000 less than the gun you're looking at. I saw a nice 20 ga. NID grade 3 with SST, ejectors and BTF at Calelas in Reno, NV yesterday for $3200.00 and I think it could be bought for a fair amount less, as they told me side by side doubles aren't very good sellers in their area.
