I recently came into possession of a Remington 1894 16 ga. A grade with Damascus bbls. I also have Semmers book, but I dont see anything on the production numbers of 10, 12, or 16 ga. I see a ton more 12s, so assume they made up the bulk of production. I wondered how many or what percentage of production were 16s. Thanks.

No production information available by gauge. Semmer's book will tell you everything that is available. A great reference well worth the price.

If you really want to know about Remington SxS, the guy to get in touch with is Terry Deem. I don't have his contact info but I think he is somewhat active of the Remington Society forums. He was a friend of Mr Semmer and has effectively continued Semmer's accumulation of the knowledge available on Remington.

I have Semmer's book and it's a great reference but it's now around 20 years old and could really stand to be updated. Lots of new information has come to light in the last 20 years
