I have a Bonehill Belmont Interchangeable BLNE that will at present only cock if held upside down (Australian Export model?).

Cocking is by hook forming part of rear lump engaging front of central tab of two armed cocking dog.

When held the right way up it falls out of engagement.

Should it, when assembled, at all times engage the hook on the bottom of the rear lump, or is it missing a spring to hold it up to engage?

Merry Christmas everyone!

From the drawings in Crudington and Baker it does appear to have a spring on the cocking dog.
