Hey guys, after 40+ years a FINALLY found a J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. No.195 “special order” to go along with my No.185.

HOWEVER, she is a bit worse for wear…missing her original octagonal to round solid rib and engraved barrel, BUT sporting the incredibly rare English straight buttstock. She will enter into my ummm rather large permanent collection.

I’m trying to track down the particular screw missing from the receiver, I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called. It is not present in my standard No.180’s, however is in my No.185 and my No.170 “trigger opening gun” which a “sister gun”. I’ll have to either conscript and fit a No.970 barrel to the task, or make one…unless an original No.195 barrel happens to falls into my lap…😉 It is located in the middle of the receiver.

Any help?

“Researcher” maybe?

It is a very deluxe single barrel hammerless shotgun, isn't it?

Yes, pictures would be wonderful. I am not familiar with a Model 195, and wonder if is similar to the Model 185 which is an engraved double with Krupp barrels.
