Here is the letter sent by Jeff Mayfield I am sorry to see him close:

Dear Customers,

I opened Jeff’s Outfitters 20 years ago after working at Cape Outfitters, owned by Don Shrum, for 16 years. It has truly been a pleasure working with all of my customers. But now it is time for a change. A few years ago my wife started working on a project that is going to give us the opportunity to work and travel together. I am calling it our retirement project.

What does that mean for Jeff’s Outfitters? The web site will stay open until the remaining inventory is sold. I will try my best to keep it up to date with current inventory. Starting January 1st 2023 I will not be in the office to answer the phone but will try to answer email as quickly as possible. I will ship items sold as soon as possible. If there will be a delay getting something shipped there will be a note included with the order confirmation that you will receive after placing the order.

I do have a number of items that are not currently listed on the website. They are mostly items that I only have one or two or used items that have accumulated over the years. I have some used cases, sights and other misc items that I am finding in the warehouse. It is amazing what gets stuck back over the years. I will be putting them on line as time permits and will try to send out email notifications when they are added. They will also be set up so that when they are sold they will no longer be available for purchase.

I would like to thank everyone for their business and support over the years, it has been great fun.

NOTE: There are a number of customers that are waiting for cases that have been on backorder. Those cases are still coming, I should have them right after the first of the year. I will be getting them out as soon as they arrive.
