Is there a source for seminletted replacement stocks for old but popular American doubles like Ithacas, Nitro Specials, Stevens, etc?

Check Ebay.

I just picked up a Superposed stock/forend and forgot to raise my bid on a buttstock for a Flues.

There has been a bunch of stuff listed recently.

Utah that stock on ebay went for $76.00.

A source ...yes try here:

I have used about a dozen stocks from them over the past year. Just finished a Flues. Nice people, fast service and good quality at an affordable price.

Yes it did. Since it had been posted here I figured that there might be enough bidders to drive it higher so I passed. To many projects, too little cash.

Yup...me too. Plus...Christmas is coming. It was a nice stock though, it hurt to let it get past me for that little money.

Thanks members. I checked and gunstocks.com will reopen around 5 Dec. After I get the stock, its time to find some small diameter steel rod and make some tiny chisels. What do you recommend for inletting compound? Lipstick or?

Forget the chisels. Buy a set of needle files and a small flat rasp. Really small. Get it at a local wood working shop supply. About 6" long and about 3/8" wide. You will use this tool the most so buy 2. I bought a set of files on Ebay called "rifflers". I know a Dremal sounds harsh and I will be spanked for saying it but...it will come in handy. Sanding block, 3 grades of steel wool, 4 grades of sandpaper, disposable rubber gloves, masking tape, stain, and finish. That should get you done in one trip to Loews.

The Best tip of all...before you do ANYTHING. BUY A PROPER SET OF SCREW DRIVERS.
