Martin - very nice, I like the look of the Safety button on the N1. Do you know the approximate dates of manufactor ?

Another but later N°1:

According to JC serial númber paper, lunette N°1 was made in 1898 and the other N°1 in 1927.

When I see guns like that, I think I know nothing.

Very nice Ideals...I'm especially fond of your No.8E, what a gun!! I miss my Ideal, I miss it alot sometimes. I wonder why someone hasn't resurrected the design and build these fantastic guns again? They are too good of a gun not to be built again.

Martin the carved Fences on your N08 look very similar to my circa 1926 N06. very nice - all of them.

Beautiful. As graceful as a swan's neck. Thanks for the photos.

Hello Martin,

Considering the monogram on the beautiful Nº8, I think you should seriously
consider sending it my way! ;-)

Thanks for sharing.

I'm in lust with the lower of the two. You never see Ideals at any of the local shows (SE Pennsylvania). I've admired them in photos for years.

What sort of numbers are you getting for choke constriction in these, Martin? I understood from the seller of my grade 2 that it was 45 pts. in the left barrel. I just finished with the bore mic. 40 pts. right; 54 pts. left. Lest you surmise I err, I should explain that I zero the bezel in the bore so I can count by 10s of thousandths without having to remember the bore diameter. Bores are .721 and .718 respectively. 54 pts. seem a bit extreme in the full choke dept. Another fiber wad test gun!

Thanks to all.
JC,
Sorry but the letter are J and G, for Jose Godio my grand uncle, the original owner.

Jack,
I have not check choke constriction of my gun. IIRC it was 1/2 and Full choked as we measure it.
I patern it with modern cartridges and found it to be full and extra full.
Those chokes were regulated for old ammo, ie fiber wads. With modern plastic wads they are much tighter.
Im very busy right now. I promise to measure choke in a couple of days.
Would you please explain me what 54 pts means?
Is it .054"?

To all,
Thank you very much.

Yes, 54/1000" constriction. Probably "points" doesn't travel well but it seems to belong to the Gunspeak commonly spoken on this board. Maybe it's the hash marks on the bore micrometer; maybe it comes from machine shop practise? Don't know really.
