Just when you think that the two ED boys have a corner on the custom SXS market, Check out this $5000 Parker. Gun Broker #62661382. If anyone has the skill to transfer this auction site to the BBS, I'd appreciate it. Randy
When I cut and pasted that number to Gun Broker I got a well worn 16-gauge Parker Bros. Trojan looking for an openning bid of $2595.

Researcher, Sorry about the mistake on the number. The right # is 62661382. Randy
Hey, what a deal! I think they should charge extra for the wonderful metal work around the wrist. And the patina is perfect inside and out! Bet the collectors jump all over that one.
I'm disappointed. You'd think for 5k you would at least get a better pad on it. Darn, I'll have to pass on this deal.
I would be interested in a buy now if the 5 acres in the background go with it.. MDC
When I saw this my gun safe groaned from the extra value that immediately attached itself to all my guns.
Provenance gentlemen, provenance.
Clearly this was Granny Clampet's gun.
Is anyone else struck by the irony that the seller's user name is mufflerman, and the "grip repair" looks exactly like a piece cut from an exhaust pipe and fastened on?
Must be an unknown model - perhaps the Parker Armor Plated Possum and Squirrel Model designed by Uncle Jed....
I just wonder what is hiding under the armor.
the sellers name says it all he must have branched out into stock work !
You guys are pretty mean. Those are heat shields; mufflerman doesn't want you to burn your hand on the wrist. The price does seem a bit high, I agree with you there.
That's a bargain.
Do you have any idea what it costs to install genuine Selous sideplates?
Pete
That gun has been listed for about 6 months.
How about this one at 10K !!!

I find th case coloring and "blueing" a little lacking for my taste and how about the ham handed screws? What do you think, a busted Sears screwdriver? Any metal checkering on the "sideplated" version?
Jim
Last time I seen plates like these they were on a Rigby piece designed for 8br chunk of lead and 10 drams of powder. Selous plates? I thought they were called elephant plates.
If he had its matching pair I'd go for them in a jiffy!
He has surely been fixing leaking mufflers (with engines running) for too long.

This has got to be a joke. No, wait, the trees, the land in the background - oh no, it's Glenthorne Estate!!! Back to reality before Thorny responds and chastises me. Where do some of these people who try and sell things like this come from?
That Parker has been on Gunbroker for over 6 month's, maybe longer. I e-mailed back then and no reply. Wonder why?
It truly must be a joke.
Or, as I consider the possibilities, some people have NO idea what a gun is worth. It is old, its a Parker, and so surely it should sell for enough to pay for a year of junior's college expenses.
Notice the seller has no ratings, because he has not successfully sold anything.
My take on it, anyway.
Regards
GKT
I think that I will save my money for the Czars gun. DOes it have those fancy metal side plates? Seems like a great place to engrave my SS# or Drivers Lisc. # or a return address if lost. If old Bo Whopper had that information on it, it would not still be lost.
Ought to email that second seller and warn him that someone bent that top lever. Custom features like that might make that gun worth even more.
The ED referrence is funny, but let's not forget everyone learns from the beginning. I sent him a message on GB which I'm sure he'll retort, but maybe it will sage him in time.
You guys can't take a joke?

Anybody notice that the $10k jewel and the $15k jewel are the same gun?
Anybody notice that the $10k jewel and the $15k jewel are the same gun?
Another joke! These guys are having a good time reading these forums.
Just think, a matched pair of Parkers for only $25K! Wonder if he'd take a car in trade.
