Opinions? Experience? Likes, dislikes? Strictly a field gun? If you have one in 12 ga., is it close to the published wgt of 6.75#?

I had an Omnium 20 ga. which is the entry level gun but (like a 686 series Berettas), I suspect the Aurum has the same guts with better embellishment. They are a very nicely fitted and finished Italian production gun, I shot targets with my 20 with 28" barrels without fatigue but it is really stocked as more of a field gun. I don't really care what anything is called anymore, if it works for my purpose fine. If I remember correctly it did weigh under 7# and handled well. I have a 20ga 28" B. Rizzini in a fieldgun configuration and use it for sporting clays. This one happens to be one of their premium grade guns but the mechanism is the same. Best gun in my cabinet.

Sounds basically positive. Thanks for the replies. 12 ga. 3-incher available locally 1300$. I notice I should have typed B. Rizzini. I'm working on getting all the Rizzini and Guerini cousins straight.

I just returned from an Argentina dove shoot this morning. I put over 5000 rounds through my B. Rizzini 20ga in four days of shooting.

The gun functioned flawlessly and at times it was so hot you didn't dare touch the barrels with bare skin. It never failed to open easily or eject a shell even when hot and crudded up. I can't say enough good things about it.

Between me and my buddies we were shooting three Rizzini's and didn't have a single problem with any of them. Between the three of us we put more than 15,000 rounds through them in the four days. How could I say more, they are great guns that remind me of the old Timex slogan "They take a licking & keep on ticking"

Having been there and done that a couple of times I can appreciate your praise of the B. Rizzini. Never used one myself, but I know first hand the grueling hour after hour use a gun gets there. Any gun that holds up for four days of that kind of use is to be commended, but..... when THREE of them are put through that without a hiccup, THAT'S impressive.
