I'm heading to MT next week for some R&R and fishing around Paradise Valley and a bit to the west. I'll be in and out of Bozeman and staying in Livingston a couple of days. In additon to Westley Richards and Hill Rod & Gun Co., I'd appreciate hearing of any others that might have some interesting doubles.
Thanks for any pointers...
Jerry
There is an out of the way place close to Livingston. Try looking at Hallowell and Co. His web sight always has a long list and his walk in vault/room is always full of eye candy.
Best,
Ron

Accept only genuine ponchos.
Some sorta Zappa reference? Who knows what I may find if I'm in the right place at the right time... Wish I was making plans for some gunning while I'm out there as I'll be missing our opener for doves here at home but, really looking forward to the fishing.

Funny, I thought the same thing when I read the heading ;-).
I don't own a stratocaster or ever been to a garage in Canoga Park, just thought it was funny.
Jerry, you might give me a call and see if I'm around.
Only two doubles and nothing for sale except books, but there is usually something interesting in the shop.
My numbers in the book.
Not sure FZ ever encounterd Montana, but mebe; Mssrs. WtS and Petrov, et. al. are on a wave length shared by many & few, tho the latter only are willing to admit it;-) A tip o' the hat to you fine gents.
Hospitality is far from gone in the region as evidenced by
MDH-MT and further, sharp tails are still present, amongst other diversions.
What's not to like? It's big sky country.
With imagery like this it is hard to imagine that he did not visit.
Frank Zappa - Montana
I might be movin' to Montana soon
Just to raise me up a crop of
Dental Floss
Raisin' it up
Waxen it down
In a little white box
That I can sell uptown
By myself I wouldn't
Have no boss,
But I'd be raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss
Raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss
Well I just might grow me some bees
But I'd leave the sweet stuff
To somebody else . . . but then, on the other hand Iwould
Keep the wax
N' melt it down
Pluck some Floss
N' swish it aroun'
I'd have me a crop
An' it'd be on top (that's why I'm movin' to Montana)
Movin' to Montana soon
Gonna be a Dental Floss tycoon (yes I am)
Movin' to Montana soon
Gonna be a mennil-toss flykune
I'm pluckin' the ol'
Dennil Floss
That's growin' on the prairie
Pluckin' the floss!
I plucked all day an' all nite an' all
Afternoon . . .
I'm ridin' a small tiny hoss
(His name is MIGHTY LITTLE)
He's a good hoss
Even though
He's a bit dinky to strap a big saddle or
Blanket on anyway
He's a bit dinky to strap a big saddle or
Blanket on anyway
Any way
I'm pluckin' the ol'
Dennil Floss
Even if you think it is a little silly, folks
I don't care if you think it's silly, folks
I don't care if you think it's silly, folks
I'm gonna find me a horse
Just about this big,
An' ride him all along the border line
With a
Pair of heavy-duty
Zircon-encrusted tweezers in my hand
Every other wrangler would say
I was mighty grand
By myself I wouldn't
Have no boss,
But I'd be raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss
Raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss
Raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss
Well I might
Ride along the border
With my tweezers gleamin'
In the moon-lighty night
And then I'd
Get a cuppa cawfee
N' give my foot a push . . .
Just me 'n the pygmy pony
Over the Dennil Floss Bush
N' then I might just
Jump back on
An' ride
Like a cowboy
Into the dawn to Montana
Movin' to Montana soon

Movin' to Montana soon

Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon

Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon

Steven,
Thanks for the note. I will give you a call when I'm in Livingston and see if there's a good time to stop by. I'm a big fan of your custom Fox's and just learning about your work on Ruger #1's of which I'm also a big fan!
Regards,
Jerry
WTS - Definitely will be putting some Zappa on the Ipod for this trip... Haven't heard that one since college but one of those that can't be forgotten.
Sad thing is I never took it to heart and moved to MT... Well, never hasn't come yet!
