Tried his email, but wouldn't go through. This particular variety of the Baker boxlock isn't on the Baker site that I saw.

Here is a similar gun marked New Era --

2holer, the Batavia C grade, or Batavia hammerless is in the pictures section of the website. These guns are usually numbered in the 50,000-56,000 serial no. range, but a few stragglers appear late, in the 38,000-thru 40,000 serial no. range. They first seem to appear in Montgomery Wards 1895 catalog with the Baker name on the gun appearing two or three years later. You also see them with other retailer's names like Imperial, Wards, New Era etc. Seemed like a lot of gun for the money. They came in both Damascus and twist barrels.
Daryl, are you still collecting data on Baker guns for the missing records? I e-mailed you some info on mine, but don't know if you received it.
Roundsworth,no, I did not receive your info. If you would be kind enough to send it again, I would appreciate it. I have been gone several weeks at a time this summer and had my server change my email program, so yours may have been caught up in the server's filter on spam.
Hi Daryl. I re-sent the info. I get the impression that information on Baker shotguns is scarce. Is there a book out there about them?
Daryl, I just thought you might want pics of as many varieties of C grade as possible.
Patriot, sure, send them on. My email is in my profile. Please make them as clear as possible. A couple of fellows have kindly sent pictures, but they were not clear enough to see well. I invite anyone to ask questions or add information and photos. Daryl
Daryl needs to write the Baker book, in his spare time...
