What Holt's auction calls a "DEMONSTRATION PIECE OF DAMASCUS BARREL CONSTRUCTION"

Now that's cool. If I had a shop and I were selling damascus guns, I'd have to have me that on display.
I've bought two. The first one wasn't in that good of condition/finish and cost $3500 the second was of lessor quality that that one and cost me $800 or $900 I think.
I think that could go for a lot more than estimate.

If that's the case, maybe I could do with a high resolution pic in a nice frame instead. wink
BTW: several examples are here, including Dr Gaddy's and a treasure from Baker Gun & Forging

MOST of the stuff I've been interested in at Holts has gone for a lot more than the estimate. I don't know where that number comes from, but I think the estimate is almost always way lower than actual selling price.

Not to hijack the thread, I will say this is a very cool piece of damascus history.
Drew the Dr Gaddy's is one of the two that I bought.
And I have the other one from Mike. Salopian is correct, they will go for more than the estimate.

It has been cleaned up since these pictures were taken.
