We've often heard it said, "He's not a gunsmith, he's a blacksmith".
View the videos under "Gallery" at this website. The forging process/technique in Tool II is very nice. I, for one, would love the Damascus "ringtone" as a ringtone.

I just wish this "Blacksmith" was a gunsmith!

The work of a true craftsman is always self-evident........

Have a great season,

C.

Wow, fascinating and beautiful. Not just the tools but the videos themselves.
C. thanks for the link. A true craftsman. When he was grinding the edge, you could tell it was hard by the white sparks coming off the wheel. That was probably a higher carbon content piece of steel he added.

If you would like to see another amazing film, watch the one on Ytube of the Japanese master making a sword. Unbelievable.
Many Thanks! Just a wonderful, unexpected pleasure watching those videos
I've got a Williams & Powell from the 1870's whose barrels ring just about like that blade--one thump and you can hear them for at least 30 seconds. Never have heard any barrel ring so clear and long. That was a great video you posted, C.
Thanks for the link. It's great to see a craftsman at work from start to finish.
