Hello. I bought a Winchester Model 21 this weekend. I paid $5000 for it and I was thinking about cutting the barrels down to 18". These make pretty good cowboy shooters, don't they? Thanks.
You betcha Jimmy.

Welcome back.
Would also do double duty for home defense. Let us know how it works out.
I figured I could get somebody to bite. Ha-ha!! Maybe next time I'll try a "What is it worth?" question, huh?
They are worth MUCH more with the cut barrels, saves someone
else the expense of having it done !!
I carry it around in the back end..:)
You still have some 21s left Jimmy? Didn't sell them all?

Jay
I think your car is on fire...

Best,
Ted

Nope. I sold seven of them and I still have two left. My beater and one that was shipped on 9/12/47 (my DOB)- a trap grade.

This was at a car show at the local technical school. They had a grill going in the background....:)
Was the grill in the trunk?

I would like to buy a cut 12 gauge 21 or a set of cut barrels. I have not gotten any response on my ads in the For Sale section. Ejector or non ejector would be fine. Thanks.
I have a set of 12 ga barrels for a L C Smith Featherweight Ideal Grade. Unfortunately they have been cut to 17 15/16".
Yep: Apparently some "Cowboy" flunked Measuring 101. The remaining barrel sections are in Pristine condition and I'm ok possessing them since I have no other parts for the gun. If anyone has a use for these let me know before I put them in a vise and toss them.

I just can't figure it out, I cut them 3 times and they are STILL too short.
CHAZ

Jimmy,
You can be on my posse any time as long as I get to shoot
one stage with the 21!
Good shooting,
Waddie Bill

I was only kidding. I would NEVER cut a Model 21 down. Just sayin' hello to everyone. Good luck to all.

Would you like to enhance the beauty and value of your Model 21 with a custom Huarache recoil pad? We have many tread designs available to suit the most discriminating of gun owners. smile
We know!! You love Model 21s just as much as the rest of us and of course they have to have a beavertail forearm and a pistol grip.

Where you been Jimmy? smile
Assuming that it's a .410....
cut those barrels down and she should be down to 8 lbs.

You should have bought IZH with 20" barrels. In rare case of obstructed barrel due to faulty cartridge your chance of being injured would be LESS then with Winchester in your hands.
Nice car jim...
The cut down 21 might make a decent but ugly cb gun...:)
just kidding...i'm not a car guy, what is it?.
I too, had wondered where you had been these last couple years..
be well & don't get too many speeding tickets smile
cheers
franc
Franc, that's exactly why Jimmy had to sell most of his Model 21s to pay for all of those speeding tickets!! smile
