With all the interest in 4 bores and 2 bores here is the waterfowlers ultimate dream come true. With a beaver tail fore arm on it the thing won't weigh much more than a Model 21. smile

J.R.B.,

Here's one after the shooters did some sky scraping....great water foul guns like you say.....

Yeah, it does kind of look like it's in the same weight class as a Winny 21....LOL..... smile

These guys are taking a lunch break after bringing down some birds....The guy leaning over took all the pickles and the guy with the pocket knife is asking why...?.....

Wonder what their load was....and their choke, short chamber or long....?.....Must be some engraving on there somewhere don't ya think.....?...

Wonko, where in the hell are ya....?

maybe if your idea of "waterfowl" is a PBY
Posted By: GaryW Re: Ultimate waterfowl gun - 05/17/13 10:39 PM
Yep, wouldn't weigh much more than a 21....probably about as heavy as a Parker.

FIELD TESTING IS FUN!!!!

You may need a smaller, manageable platform. It would require a bit more time for the construction of the base in the blind.

System Ehrhardt circa 1907

Then if you wanted a dove, duck & goose option, you'd need a more mobile platform. A little camo and I'd think you'd be set.

System Ehrhardt circa 1907.

Kind Regards,

Nice and cozy duck blind Doug. Every one there is mad at the guy in the far left. I think he took the last of the scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast without having the manners to ask if someone else would like some. Now all that is left to eat is PBY, peanut butter and yelly.

I'm just guessing or hoping that old 'Russ' has had a chuckle or two over the threads during the past 24 hours.

The guy in the right foreground is dressed appropriately. Drake Old School, maybe?

Yeah JR, it was posted in two places, but they figured it out and bought it......NO FFL.....Shipping from Europe was not as they were told though, paid an extra 1K in airport fees, some assembly required.... smile........but they are members of the 'big honker' gun club and are really on top of their game.....LOL

Hey skeettx it looks like the local kiddie park or petting zoo...?....And through the smoke it looks like what appears to be a white swan....?... grin

Wow, some folks will jump through hoops to get a special gun. Hope they checked first if it can handle steel shot.

I'm wondering if it has a carved fence or not and if it will handle 11,000 pound pressures.

Doug, that German 88 made more GI fox hole conversions than any single weapon in the Nazi arsenal. Dad had nightmares about that gun during and after the war. It hit before it was heard because of its supersonic speed. Gil

Since posting this Doug I bet Feinstein and Bloomberg are going to put it under an assault weapons ban. There go our hopes and dreams of the Ultimate Waterfowl gun. cry

Gil, yes the German 88 was undoubtably the best field piece on the field on either side during that war. Copied by everyone after the war. GI's talked more about the damn German 88's than any other piece, for good reason.

Best,

It had to be as good or better when captured pieces were used by the Allies against the Germans.

Then they figured out how to mount that damn thing in a turret of a tank. My Dad and his brothers always admired and feared the German 88s and their MG42!!
