Woods and Meadows is a fun time. Always look forward to it. And for the vultures here interested in scores, please note that it is a FUN shoot. There is a Lewis pool, but that's it.

If you haven't tried a SxS shoot and live within a few hours of Warrens WI this would be a great opportunity to have a great time! As stated in another thread, these shoots are about the camaraderie, interesting guns which you may get to shoot, and good times with new friends!

Darn. Not as much "eye candy" this year if Mr. Beasland won't be there!

I'm disappointed in you, Mr. Brown. I can only suspect you're freshly off one your diatribes with your nemeses on another board.

Have some FUN.

Nope. Only concerned about the vultures on THIS board who wish to feast on scores. I don't care what anyone shoots at the Vintage Cup or the Southern; why should anyone care what anyone shoots at the Great Northern, Woods & Meadows, or anywhere else? Anyone wants to see how they stack up--especially at a shoot like the Great Northern, where you have pigeon ring and one-man flurry events in addition to the more common sporting clays event--I'm sure the guys at the Medford club would welcome your participation next year.

Larry,

Most of us could care less what others shoot at an event 1000 miles away, and shooters we don't even know. It seems you are the one hung up on this score thing. No one brought it up on this thread, except you. And, if you are so insistent that scores are superfluous, why don't you suggest that no one keep a scorecard at all, and that the purse money be given away in a raffle, as door prizes. Wouldn't that be really sportsmanlike ?

That sounds a lot like the question I asked you, Larry, when you baited the vultures with the scores from the Great Northern on another thread. Why would anyone care?

But you made a point of feeding the vultures by letting us know who anonymous #19 was...

"I was shooter #19, in case anyone but me cares. Pleased with my results except the pigeon ring, which is usually my strongest event."

Stan makes an excellent point, although it's not the first time it has been made in this context. If scores don't matter, why keep score?

Mike and Stan, I posted the link to the scores as a service to those who participated in the Great Northern. As I noted in a previous post, since the pigeon ring and the one-man flurry are somewhat unique events in that shoot, others won't really understand what the scores mean. Others questioned the fact that the scores were listed by shooter number rather than name.

Why keep score? Well, because the prize guns are awarded based on Lewis Class, which requires that scores be kept. That'd be one good reason, I think. And Stan . . . giving away the prize guns by drawing is under consideration, I believe.

When does it start? I have to drive from the Twin Cities.
Thanks,
Jeff

Most squads start anywhere from 9:00 - 10:00 (ish). Shoot 50 before lunch and 50 after. It's pretty laid back. Always a few nice doubles on the tables for sale.

Thanks! I have a couple of guns and some really nice blanks I would like to sell.
See you there,
Jeff
