Since Doug is on this site, I thought it might be neat again to rediscover the gun that made such a sensation at the Beinfeld Sahara Gun Show maybe 35 years ago. Someone found a 1/1000 in a river bottom as memory serves. The mag tube was about rusted away and I don't know what stampings were left, but the gold inlays identified what it was. There were before pics at the show and the masterpiece Doug turned it into. Maybe Doug could find some old pics and show us the before and after of the gun that really put him on the map.

I hope Mr. Turnbull sees this and responds. I'd love to see that rifle. Been a long time fan of Doug's work.

I wanted to open this link but got this instead:

'This request is blocked by the SonicWALL Gateway Geo IP Service.
Country Name: Slovenia.
Initiator IP: 89.143.109.255'

Don't remember of getting such treatment before.

That's strange I just clicked on it and it still works for me. All it is a page from Turnbull's website hi-lighting the Winchester discussed earlier.

This says that the hardware/software firewall called Sonicwall has blocked access to that site. It is Probably used by your local internet provider (or company portal) and configured with a filter on names, key words or known IP addresses of "bad" sites. I see that Dell as well as others, including manufacturer (SonicGuard.com ) sell these. The IP address that it displays is for IzydorSymanski-net in Lublin, Slovenia (You?). I would guess that this is either a new hardware firewall or an existing one has had an update to it's list of allowed/blocked access sites.

Thanks for the explanation. Lublin is in Poland, which is far from Slovenia (where I live) so I don't see any obvious connection. But you never know...

With kind regards,
Jani

Hello, Pete. I was just looking at our join dates. Has it really been that long? I remember I followed all of you guys on here so long ago. Mainly because of your love and devotion to the Model 21s. Are you still in love with them as much as you used to be? Ha-ha!! I still have a couple left. It is good to hear from you again, guy. Hope you are fine and well. Take care. smile
