I see you're posting again. Found on sidelocks from a Vouzelaud. French gun, but the proofmarks on the barrels are Belgian, and the flats also have the initials JLD, which could be the same Donnay. See the thread a couple pages back. Thanks!
Not really. I chased him a bit when you 1st acquired the double. Seems Donnay was a gunmaking family in Liege:

Francois Noel Joseph Donnay born 07.01.1842 - died 24.02.1906

Joseph Donnay was born Oktober 2nd, 1863 in Liege by 1st marriage to unknown?

FNJD Married Elisabeth Bertrand in 1842 & had 3 additional kids with sons being Joseph Donnay(previous marriage) & Henri Hubert Donnay(1878). All men were listed as armuriers.

Then I noticed a Joseph Donnay of Liege expiring in 2013 & 2014(at least 1 was an armurier). Ah, let me look again a bit closer.

I don't have the correct accents but Armand Donnay landed up in trouble with the law it appears:

Raimey, I can confirm this, his son (Dominique) is still active in Liége and he is a authorised licensed gun dealer.
Happy New Yaer to all our members. Greetings from Belgium, Marc.
Thanks Marc. Have you more info on the lineage or ancestry of the Donnay gunmaking family of Liege?

Thanks for chasing that down, Raimey. If a Jos. died in 2013 or 2014, that might well be the individual I'm looking for. Very modern gun, highly doubtful it would go back to the chap born in 1863.
Raimey, I don't have more info then you have all ready. I know that Armand had 2 children 1 girl and 1 boy named Dominique who obtained his gunmakers (gundealers) license in june 2006 and is still active in the trade and gunmaking. I met him once and have spoken with him.
Marc.
Mr. Brown, no worries mate. From what I remember, both of the Joseph Donney fellas were born in the early 1930s and one was from Jupille-sur-Meuse. I suspect he to be our culprit but I have not seen any middle names. There was a Joseph Donnay(1887-1967) of Saive, Liege that married a Marie Jeanne Hariga in 1915 & they had several childred one being Lèon in 1925 & he had a son named Luc. Not sure if any were armuriers.

Kind Regards,

Early 30's birth, I'm guessing, would probably fit. Thanks again.
