I would hate to see what it looked like before it was improved upon. That is UGLY.

at least they had the forethought to only attach that monstrosity to a low end flat back back action gun.... whistle

Trigger ruined the looks of a fine gun! Bobby

I didn't realize Rube Goldberg designed guns. A truly inelegant solution to a non-problem. Or is it an attempted knock-off (looks only) of TV's The Rifleman's (Chuck Connor) lever action Win 44-40?

Who would do that to a Joseph Lange?

My guess is a hand injury. Like a missing index finger.
All kinds of oddball accommodations made by the English gunmakers of the time.

It seems to me like it was designed for two finger shooting. The index finger would be on the front trigger and the middle finger on the rear. If so then the trigger hand would not have to be moved on the grip between shots.

They would have had to rework the seer on the rear trigger as the extra leverage would reduce the pull force by one half and magnify the actual movement of the finger by two.

From the description in the ad I take it that the trigger is an aftermarket addition although I am not certain of that.

That is weird all right.
Looks aside, it just seems to be a way to pick your bbl firing order without moving your trigger finger for or aft...just up n down instead..kinda like an instant bbl select single trigger, but not quite,Lol.
That would be tough to get used to after normal DT guns
I also reckon it could be to assist with some right hand injury or problem
Whats that on the rib by the standing breech face?
Looks like a fine Gun though
cheers
