What a great day. The birds were tough to bring in close but "labor of love" does not come close to describing the experience of getting to call in the first bird for your first born.

Kriscinda waiting for the three jakes to come in.

One of the other birds making sure Kriscinda's bird was really dead!

The proud hunter.

The proud father.

Well done proud Pappa!

What was the load of choice for the wee lass?

Best,
Mark
After some patterning I settled on 2 3/4", 1 1/8 oz Remington Nitro Mags with #6 shot. Her 20g 870 had the factory full choke with .027s constriction and patterns were good to 30 yards. I placed two sticks in the field to mark the 30yd kill zone.

Tim
Looks like you have dinner!

Nice bird.

Tell your daughter congatulations. I am 49 and have never killed a turkey. What a wonderful memory.

Super... nice job Kriscinda. Seems like she has done quite a bit of growing since her first deer. Was that just last fall?
Our season starts next week.
Still should have been taken with a double...

Well done! My sons first bird is a fond memory. Had 2 longbeards in gun range for my daughter this am, but no shot presented to her.

Congrats!
