Hi guys title says it all was going to use my H grade in an upcoming sxs national event and have broken the top lever spring
any ideas on tracking one down I think it will be quite hard to find parts here in Australia
I have successfully welded 4-5 of that spring. If worse comes to worse.
Now is a perfect time to learn how to make your own. Midway has a video on YouTube. It's not hard to do.
I broke the top lever spring on a Parker I had while out hunting. My temporary repair was a rubber band stretched from the trigger guard up to the top lever. Not very classy but it worked and saved a day of pheasant hunting. Just think how impressed all your SXS peers will be with your field repair abilities! LOL!

Kody Kearcher replaced one for me last year. Didn't cost very much.

leaf springs.....the condoms of the shotgun world...always break at the least opportune moment....
Anyone referring or thinking of using Kody Kearcher needs to read this:

I have a cigar box full of similar leaf springs, some with the extended pin, some without. Too bad you live in the land down blunder, mate, or I'd send you one, given your broken one for an example for dims. Good on you, Matey!!
Thanks guys I have a few leads now to at least try and find something
I may try tig welding the broken one
Not a good call- TIG and high carbon 1090 spring steel that has been heat treated-you will not be happy with the results. 35 years in the welding trade has taught me that very few springs can be TIG welded successfully.
thanks fox would a hit with the mig be better?
as it turns out an old friend of mine who was a bit of a gunsmith (sadly no longer with us)
His son has taken over all his parts just found out he lives about 1 mile away from me!!!
so heres hoping he has something that will do the job
