Anybody headed to the Tulsa Gun Show this weekend?

Is this a good venue for SxS's? How about English SxS's?

Thanks!

Ive been probably 10 times in the last 15 years. Its a big show, 11 acres if I remember correctly so wear your best walking shoes. I quit going to the Las Vegas show and Tulsa is the best for sxs and english guns near me.

George Caswell will be there and Galazan is usually there too. Not sure about Steve Barnett, but he might. Jay Shachter is usually there as well as James Wayne. Westley Richards used to go but since their trouble in Missouri they've not been attending.

So I would encourage you to go and be ready to wade through the Winchesters and Colts and Brownings. Also, I think you can get in on Friday (move in day for dealers) for an extra fee. I would highly recommend doing that as Saturday is crazy…

Federal charges follow raids at gun shops 12/16/03 They are the culmination of a three-year investigation. By: Laurie Patton, KY3 News SPRINGFIELD -- Federal law officers were completing a long investigation of firearms violations when they led raids at three businesses on Tuesday morning. By the end of the day, U.S. attorneys had formally charged five people with connections to the businesses. Larry Scott, a spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said about 100 federal and local officers executed search warrants, which were the result of a three-year investigation. The raids were at Gunsmoke Gun and Pawn, 4305 W. Chestnut Expressway, a Westley Richards rifle dealership... According to court records, a BATFE agent accused John Robert Francis of being the true manager of the Westley Richards Agency and also participates in the management of Gunsmoke Gun and Pawn. In doing so, Bob Francis possesses all the firearms in the inventory of both businesses and frequently handles and controls the firearms. Francis can't legally sell firearms, or work in a business that sells firearms, because he pleaded guilty in 1986 to conspiracy to deal firearms without a license. In the court records, the BATFE agent says, between September 2002 and this month, a confidential informant met or talked with Bob Francis about 30 times (and recorded at least 26 of the meetings) about gun sales and the operations of the businesses on Chestnut. Bob Francis is charged with the illegal sale of firearms. City business records show Gunsmoke Gun and Pawn and the Westley Richards dealership are licensed to Bob Francis' wife, Nancy Francis.

The ATF continued its investigation throughout 2003 when federal agents executed search warrants on both the WRA and the adjacent pawn shop. The agents seized 211 high-end firearms from WRA's vault and 408 firearms from the pawn shop.

There are more SxS to fondle in Tulsa than all the other gun shows in Kansas for the whole year.

I knew much of the story but not the details. Thank you for posting that. Interesting that the man in question should have had his firearms rights restored but the ATF did not do so due to budgetary constraints, yet they had the budget to conduct a multi year investigation into him.

I'll be at 22B upper level (Steve Barnet's old tables). Our section is mostly doubles. Stop by and say hello!

Be ready to walk, 11 acres and 4100 tables!

I'll be there. Taking a nice 16ga LC Specialty featherweight ejector 26" one trigger, killer dimensions to find a new home.

I'll be there. May bring a near mint 16g model 12 with factory cyl choke for rehoming. But, I won't give it away as so many there often ask you to do.

The WR thing in Springfield was a travesty of justice, a pitiful waste of tax dollars and should never have happened. A case of overzealous prosecutors with not enough to do.

Agreed, the WR thing seems like a shame.

Any reports out there today?

More people than I'd seen at the show for years. Had to park at the race track. Hard to move in many areas. Sold my shotgun in less than 10 minutes after stepping in the door......I was happy and the buyer was happy.

Sorry, I did not see this before I left for Tulsa. I was next to Galazans ELEVEN TABLES. Great show with LOTS of people coming in. The wait by the public was about a block long to get in on Saturday morning. I sold a lot of surplus stuff and no doubles to speak of. YOu could have found anything that you have been dreaming of and could have afforded. I bought only one item-- a Havana cigar.

So still high prices on double guns and not many moving, would that be a fair assessment?

too bad WR was not a Muslim, then I guess most here would have thought the money was well spent?

Breaking the law...is breaking law....others might think?
