NOT JUST FOR VETS AND SUPER VETS! NOT JUST FOR VINTAGE GUNS!

Northbrook Sports Club, Hainesville , IL presents the "National Classic Shotgun Festival", May 18-20th with a new twist...the "NSCA U.S. Veteran's Open".

The National Classic combines casual Sporting Clays and trap events using classic Side by Sides, Over-Unders and Pump guns, with the NSSA Vintage Skeet National Championship...and now the US Vets Open. Additional events include preliminary 5-stand and Sporting courses on Friday and a 100 target Main event that can be shot Saturday or Sunday or both. Most participants plan on shooting the National Classic events repeatedly with different gauges or action styles, and awards will be offered in all events.

The club's lush country setting boasts ten Skeet and Trap layouts, two 5 Stands set for Hunter and Competition skill levels and a Sporting Clays layout spanning hundreds of acres of woods, fields and variable terrain.

The" NSCA US Vets Open" features a 100 target prelim Friday and a 200 target main event Saturday and Sunday, and is limited to 250 shooters. Registered 5-stand events will be held with a prelim on Friday and a main event on Saturday or Sunday. These events will be shot on separate courses from the National Classic double and pump gun events.

When it comes to Sporting Clays targets, Northbrook has built a solid reputation for challenge and quality. Southern Illinois' Master class shooter Gary Fitzjarrell Jr. will be setting the "U.S. Vet's" targets over some virgin ground. Anyone who as had the pleasure of shooting Gary 's targets will not want to miss this shoot!

While the US Vets Open offers NSCA registered Vets and Super Vets an opportunity to compete for up to $20,000* in added money, every NSCA member regardless of age is welcome to match their ability against three challenging competition sporting courses. All NSCA shooters are eligible for Back to Class, Lewis and all options; in fact, we are excited to announce the addition of $2,000 in added money for non-Veteran and non-Super- Veteran NSCA shooters!

In 2006, the National Classic Shotgun Festival drew 285 competitors and more than 2,000 spectators to view the fun and ogle the wares of over 20 World-Class purveyors of fine guns, shooting apparel and sporting collectables. A three day weekend festival in "Game Fair" tradition featuring the finest in classic double guns from noted makers such as Holland & Holland, A&S Famars and Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing, as well as the latest in modern Sporting, Skeet and Trap technology from B&P, Popovich Fine Guns, Browning, and the gun fitting services of Bob James of Montana Long Guns, Paul Hillmer, and Brian Bilinski.

So what is the National Classic Shotgun Festival really? It's anything you want it to be...it's a Game Fair, a Fine Arms Show, a Classic Sporting Gun event, a World Vintage Skeet Championship, and the first Veterans and Super Veterans Sporting Clays tournament in the country. Hope you'll plan to attend May 18-20th, 2007.

You've got it all wrong! The 19th and 20th of May 2007, is the Nimrod Classic at Big Sky Sporting Clays at Polson, Montana, in the fabulous scenery around the south end of Flathead Lake. Black powder event on the Blue Course and the "Short-Shuckers" small-gauge pump guns on the Red Course on Saturday morning. "The Vintage Open" Saturday afternoon for vintage repeaters and doubles SxS or O/U (pre 1941) on the Red Course. Sunday is "The Nimrod Classic" for vintage side by sides.

Also that weekend is the big Colorado gun show. The PGCA will be having a presance there for the first time this year.

Researcher,
"Life" is always an endless series of choices. On the Plus side of course, it's great we have choices to make! Of course, if you're seriously schizoid with at least three separate personalities to match you might be able to be everywhere at once.

Frankly, I'd love to attend the Colorado Gun Show for the Sharps Collectors Association annual meeting, and at Polson because it is nice scenery. Although don't you find it strange that Bob James & Montana Long Guns (based in Polson) choose to be at the National Classic again this year instead of the Nimrod? Hmmm...

My choice is to attend the National Classic along with a few hundred other serious shooters who like to pull the trigger as well as drool over fine arms. Why? Because only the National Classic lets you do both in a big way. It's a simple fact that there is no other weekend shotgun festival anywhere in the U.S. that compares to the National Classic ... not the Flatwater ... not the U.P. ... not the Vintager's ... not the Nimrod.

But where ever you choose to be, here's hoping you have a weekend as great as ours. Shoot well...shoot often.

You don't want to miss this, I was out at Northbrook today and there are new raised shooting platforms, new bermed areas to shoot and they are working like crazy to make this the best double gun shoot ever.
