I'm hoping some of the Italian gun scholars out there can help me understand the various "Zanotti" makers. So far I have found Zanotti, Zanotti 1625, Fabio Zanotti, and Stephano Zanotti. Are all of these the same? Related? Unrelated? What is the quality of each? Any information you have would be appreciated. Thanks, Keith

Fabio Zanotti made several models for Aberchrombie and Fitch and were excellent guns modeled on the Scalloped Westley Richards A&D action. These were Model 625 and probably also 1625 was a variation. I have a 625 and they are excellent. Fabio Zanotti was acquired by Renata Gamba a few years ago. I believe Stephano Zanotti was a seperate company, but not sure.

The early Zanotti gunmakers were...Giancinto Zanotti, Tomaso Zanotii, Gli Zanotti, Fratelli Zanotti ...there's probably more...The house of Zanotti gunmakers has been around since the 1800's
