New Interior Sec. Ryan Zinke R-MT. did not mess around on his first day at work.
In an Executive order he quickly reversed the treachery of Obama's outgoing U.S. F&WS director, who on his last day at work ordered a BROAD lead ban that would have affected Millions of Shooters and Anglers.....

(This would have led to a lead shot ban on Dove hunters , even on PRIVATE land if allowed to take its course....

Quick Work, thank You Mr. Secretary !!!!
Amen! Well done!

Another great Trump selection.
Fantastic news. I was really worried when I heard about that "parting shot" by the outgoing secretary.
Great news indeed! Hopefully we'll see some good changes for our shooting and hunting sports.

Fantastic news, and further proof that politics, guns, and hunting are absolutely intertwined. It really does make a difference who we support and elect, and the Liberal Left has been continually eroding our Gun Rights in every way they can think of.
FYI, here's the link to the text of the order: https://www.doi.gov/sites/doi.gov/files/uploads/order_no._3346.pdf
And on the "increase hunting on public lands" front https://www.doi.gov/sites/doi.gov/files/uploads/revised_so_3447.pdf , take note of subsection 4.(c)(4):
"Identify specific actions to manage predators effectively and efficiently."

That will be a good 60 days from now before any document identifying specific actions gets done - they have 30 days to make recommendations and then another 30 to identify actions.
My suggestion, especially for the hunters in the upper Midwest, would be to write many, many letters asking to have wolf management returned to the states, and allow hunting them.
Too bad Congress thought the new administration was a green light to sell off public lands. It would be an ironic twist if you could use lead, but there was no place to hunt!

My suggestion would be to get out and vote in 2018 and give this guy some more help in the Senate so this can become permanent.

His sons are big hunters and would keep this on the front burner.

Wow! Did you even read the article that you provided the link to?

Both Ryan Zinke and Donald Trump have been opposed to selling off large chunks of Federal lands, in spite of the false information their critics have been repeating.
Good news...Bet it's got ol Ben Deeble (grouse guy) fartin outa his ears...
