How close are the Fox Sterlingworths (12ga) as far as swapping forends, gun to gun? I have found most of my Ithacas I can swap freely as long as the model stays the same.

Apart from metal fit back where it meets the frame, interchangeability should be pretty good.

Thank you Brian,

I have a very good Sterlingworth forend in the 77k(?) ser# range and I just located a 12ga Sterlingworth, missing a forend, in the 98k range. I am waiting on dimensions from the seller. Might make an economy shooter.

That's the trouble with snap on forends. I left one in a woodcock cover once almost forty years ago. The gun was a 16 but all I could get was a 12 gauge forend to replace the old one, iron and all. It fit but was a little proud of the frame on both sides.

Sterlingworth and Parker Trojan snap on forends are pretty hard to just have fall off when hunting.
Forends with simple J springs are a lot more common to have that happen.

better than 50% chance it would work...forend hook may need to be altered...and worse case, you can go forend shopping...
