Sale of a long gun is illegal by Fed law if the gun is newer than 1898 and the buyer and seller live in different states. Why take the chance in the climate of today? Buyer blows the whistle for some reason down the road and seller is in deep doo doo.

Mills meant to mention that. He just forgot.

Unless you hold an FFL03. That’s the best $30 you’ll spend.

TIP -you'd better check the Fed regs on CR 03FFL selling guns to non licensees who live in your own state, or to those with residence in another state.
Posted By: Gr8day Re: 2018 Vintage Gunners Cup - 08/25/18 11:19 PM
That’s true. The FFL 03 makes it easy for the holder to buy old guns across state lines. Selling to non FFLs is a different story.

I would not buy or sell anything in Maryland without going through a dealer.

We did get official word from Bob Decker that he will NOT be able to attend. We're sorry we won't see him this year.

Thank you for updates, I'll be there if weather permits.

Well, I've never been to one of these and am often out of the country. Since it's relatively close-by and I'm here for awhile, I'll drive up Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning.

Hello All,

Understanding what has been occurring in the Carolinas, looking ahead, the forecast for the Eastern Shore looks pretty good for the Vintage Gunners Cup.

We've added a new game that should be fun and is well priced:

Field Gun 5-Stand – 30 Target Event
--Guns must weigh less than 6lbs 13oz
--Shooters must start with gun off the shoulder
--30 targets, all true pairs, thrown from 2 of 3 or more raps. Shooter does not know which 2 targets will be thrown.
--Cost: $10

Visit http://vintagers.org/VC for more information.

I hope many of you will be able to make it.---Matt

I went on Sat to shop and shoot. Targets ok and mostly soft and venders good but limited. Turn out was decent but I wonder how many less if the parker Assoc didn't have there annual meeting at the VGC? Any other feedback from those at the Vintager Cup shoot?

I shot (3) events on Saturday. The targets were challenging enough to be enjoyable; definitely not stiff by NSCA tournament standards. (Sunday was a washout...I'll hunt in the wet... I won't shoot clays in the rain)

The exhibits are always fun to walk through and I managed to hang onto my wallet.

Didn't have to pay for parking.

Took the opportunity to stock up on RST's for the upland season.

Frankly I think this kind of small event is more entertaining.

Calm down.

I attended on Saturday and had a great time. It’s certainly smaller than its height when held at Pintail Point. Those were amazing. But, it was still a lot of fun. I even managed to tie for first in 16 ga hammer gun:). I would have loved to win a trophy but I had to depart and no idea when they were giving them out or if there would be a shoot off. Good shooting, cigars, beautiful doubles everywhere. It was a fine day.

WinScoreOnline, which posts the official results, reports there were 160 shooters for the event. That's up from last year and a good showing considering the hurricane weather kept many of the Carolina people and some other usual suspects from attending.

While the weather was very nice on Friday and Saturday, the rain no doubt discouraged attendance on Sunday.

I had a fun time shooting and catching up with friends, along with seeing some very nice guns in the vendor tents. Food was good - and very reasonably priced - especially the home made cookies.

While I did not go, I did speak to one of my friends who was a vendor. He spoke to other vendors and said slow sales. Apparantly, other vendors in the past have had this same issue and have not returned. I am sure all had a good time shooting but slow to no sales does not bring the vendors back. As some have noticed, less vendors than before
