Cocktail Party - If you are a member of the Vintage Gunners or an exhibitor, the cocktail party on Friday starting at 5:00 pm is complimentary. We ask that you send an email to tsnyder610@aol.com stating that you are coming so that we have a count and can plan according. This event is held on the shooting grounds so your shooting attire is fine to wear at the event. For non-members, the cost is $25.00 payable at the door.

Ladies High Tea - The Ladies High Teas on Friday at 2:00 pm is also complimentary to members or wives/significant others. We ask that if you/your wife/significant other plan on attending the Ladies (only) High Tea that you send an email to tsnyder610@aol.com so that we can plan according. The ladies on the committee have done a great job in putting together this event. They have their own 30x30 tent, overlooking the nearby pond and a view of the mountains. Period dress is suggested but not required.

Seminars - We have two seminars scheduled with a third pending. The German Gun Collectors will be discussing firearms of German heritage and Lars Jacob of "Lars Jacob Wingshooting" will be discussing gun fitting.

The organization guarantees 100% of the money will go to providing an outdoor experience they might not normally have. No administration fees are taken out.

Prizes – For every event that you shoot you will receive a ticket and be entered into a raffle for a number of great prizes available for viewing and to be drawn on Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:00 pm.

Matt;

What/when are the mentioned rifle events?

Regards

Hello BV,

The rifle events will be open across all 3 days. We're still working out the exact course of fire. Should have that nailed down in a few days and I'll post here.

Also, for everyone else, Exciting Outdoors Argentina will have a booth at the VGC, so you can talk with them about a trip to Argentina for birds or fishing.

More info to come. ----Matt

I see Matt updated the vender list, thank you. Did you delete just that one name or were all the venders contacted to confirm attendance? They put in there names many months back.

How many people attend this event?
Posted By: MattH Re: 2019 Vintage Gunners Cup - 08/14/19 01:21 AM
Joe, every vendor on the list above currently has paid for space. I can add to that list now Country Pursuits Outfitters, BMD Gun Stocks, Great Bay Outfitters, John Dickson & Son, Downeast Hearing Care.

SXS 40, we did not attract the numbers we wanted the last couple of years in MD. We fell short of 200 shooters there. We are looking for over 200 shooters at Hausmann's this year. I won't speculate on how many more, but we feel good about things at this point.

BV, look for the rifle event info in the next day or two.

Thanking Matt for reply re. venders. One more question. Can you tell us please about regular parking and parking for phyically disabled? I read that the near by parking field will not be used

Thanks Matt! Hope to shoot with ya sometime. Is there a link to the GA Vintagers?

Still on wait for Matt H the spokeperson here to answer question on the parking set up.

Tom Synder, the current president of the Vintagers, responded to the parking issue on the Parker site. Parking/camping will be in a lower field, located below the rock quarry. Shuttles I think will be available, and GC rentals are staged in the lower field. It is quite a walk from that location to the venue, so a GC may be necessary. I suspect vender tents will be in upper parking field.

Hidden Hollow is a very nice venue and the June shoot was fun. Not sure if course will be changed, or has, for the Vintagers.

Thanks, I expected a reply from Matth who must be there advertosing man. I checkd Parker site and lower field in reply is the first field off hard road on left and before the quary, and upper field written here is the usual parking field nearby gate to Hollows. Shuttel is no differnt than many year's when Vintaners was at Orvis in NY , and orvis still does shuttels at there own September Cup shoot. why are Parker men complaining when most of them have money for high $ guns? Stop whining and spend a few $ on a golfcart.

Really?? Do you think $180 for three days golf cart rental is cheap?

Somebody's soaking somebody.... but not me - I'll take the shuttle, thanks.

Sorry to be late to the party Old Joe. Thank you susjwp. There will be shuttles from the parking lot. ---Matt

Golf carts are a luxury for most of us, a necessity for some. If I have remembered correctly, this is the same vendor and price from the North-East this past June. This course is easily walkable, a few hills, but not too steep, and if you have a rugged gear cart, well...
Posted By: Buzz Re: 2019 Vintage Gunners Cup - 08/21/19 12:12 PM
Golf carts at most bigger shoots seem to be $60-$70/day. It is salty, but I’ve heard it’s the golf cart rental companies that bring all the carts that are the one’s doing the soaking, not the gun clubs themselves. Regardless, they have you by the yingyang and it may be actually cheaper than hauling your own cart miles and miles. But, somebody is making the bucks and it sure adds to the cost of what is usually already fairly expensive shooting.

How "serious" is the shooting competition? I have been shooting ATA trap since 1984 and understand how to play the game. At a $1 per target what are the prizes? It sounds like a win gives you a chance at a drawing to win?
I have never been to one of these vintage shoots but plan to someday! Last time I was in PA was 1972 at Indian Town Gap, very nice country.

A question that has been asked is... is there a gate fee?

No sir! No gate or admission fee. If you just want to come browse the vendors and socialize, it won't cost you a thing. ---Matt

No gate fee, free shuttles, side events we are familar with, and you can browse the tents- vendors till the, is it roosters, come home? Whats not to like.

Two Updates:

1. Puglisi Gun Emporium will be joining us as a vendor.

2. The parking at the Vintage Gunners Cup has been moved back to the traditional parking area just a short distance away from registration, exhibitors tent and the food vendor. The upper field parking will be used for overflow parking and non-shooters. Non-shooters and people coming just to see the exhibitors will be directed to the upper lot with signs. A shuttle will be running as needed to transport non-shooters to and from the golf cart pick up area near the lower parking lot or to registration building and exhibitor tents. The flurry and the clays pigeon ring have been moved to the upper field to accommodate parking for shooters. It is just a short ride by golf cart or with your vehicle. Parking is free. Our goal in moving the parking area back near the shooting venue is make it as convenient as possible for our shooters and exhibitors. There will be signs directing people to the different parking areas and RV camping areas.

Given that the small bore course and the large bore course are at different ends of the grounds, it may still be helpful get a golf cart.

Its a great venue, run by 1st class folks. A previous appointment on the prairie with my dogs keeps me from attending.

Have a great shoot and I look forward to the photos and reports!

I shot at an event at Hausmanns this past weekend and got a little preview of the work that's been done for the Vintage Cup and everything looks great. For those who have shot there before, a lot of new space has been opened for vendor tents and parking. They have laid in two additional new sporting courses for smaller gauge events. The five stand has been rearranged. This past weekend's event used the same catering as will be at the Vintage Cup and was wonderful. All in all it looks like things are shaping up for an outstanding event. Really looking forward to it.
