I thought I'd reach out to some fellow enthusiasts about our upcoming online Australian Fine Arms auction in Melbourne. We've got a very good variety of mainly English S x S shotguns & some dbl rifles. This should be made even more attractive to US buyers taking advantage of their strong dollar!

Interest would be much improved if a shipper could be found. Interesting guns are much better buys if you know you can get them imported without having to sign a statement that you will not use them to build a nuclear device like the EU now requires you to sign. That and having a firm dollar amount for shipping to the buyer helps.

I looked into it a while back, doable but you need to line up a bunch of guns to make it cost effective. Exchange rate is great currently.

I don't mean to sound caustic, but if you intend to sell online you would do well to hire a good photographer and somebody to do thorough descriptions.

Neither of the local auctioneers (or most of the online secondhand trading sites for that matter) have ever seemed worried about putting decent pics of lots up, and it's rare to see data on wall thicknesses or bore diameters). I've long since made it my rule never to bid unless I could inspect in person to verify description and condition.
